The closing ceremony of the year-long celebration of 125 years of Sister Nivedita’s arrival to India and Holy Mother’s Puja to inaugurate the Girls’ school

The closing ceremony of the year-long celebration of 125 years of Sister Nivedita’s arrival to India and Holy Mother’s Puja to inaugurate the Girls’ school at 16, Bosepara Lane, was organized by RKSM Sister Nivedita Heritage Museum and Knowledge Centre on 8 May 2024 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Mohit Maitro Manch, Paikpara.

The programme began with the Vedic Chanting by the Brahmacharinis of Sri Sarada Math. A minute’s condolence was observed in memory of Most Revered Pravrajika Anandaprana Mataji, the fifth President of Sri Sarada Math and RKSM. Pr Nikhilprana welcomed the gathering. Revered Pr Jnanadaprana Mataji presided over the function and addressed the audience. Revered Pr Atandraprana Mataji also expressed her views and released the Souvenir ‘India Shall Ring With Her.’ Pr Asheshaprana presented the report of the Museum with a Powerpoint presentation. Six meritorious students from Gangarampore and Shihore (out of the 8 rural centres) received the scholarship from the Chief Guest Prof. Sabujkali Sen (Principal, School of Languages, RMIC and Former Vice Chancellor, Vishwa Bharati, Shantiniketan) who also delivered a speech on Sister Nivedita’s impact on India. This was followed by an address by the Special Guest Dr. Molishree (Deputy Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Govt of India) who encouraged the students through her inspiring views on Swami Vivekananda and Sister Nivedita. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Pr Shivalokaprana.

The second phase of the programme began with a dance recital on Lord Shiva by the students of RKSMVV. Sm. Poulami Bhattacharya then engaged the audience by her Bengali recitation on Sister Nivedita. The last event was the Drama ‘Samit-pani’, about the establishment of Sri Sarada Math, enacted by the Museum guides, devotees, friends and volunteers concluded by the National Anthem.

The Book was available for sale at a discounted price and food packets were served to all along with ORS at the Exit gate. The event was attended by 650 people.
