Effective Educator Course

The Effective Educator (Training of Trainers Programme) was conducted by Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Nivedita Institute of Human Advancement & Research (NIHAR) as part of its initiative to strengthen educational capacity and promote value-based teaching. The programme was delivered over a period of two months, comprising approximately 50 hours of training through a hybrid mode of online and offline sessions conducted on weekends . The primary objective of the course was to equip aspiring educators and trainers with effective teaching methodologies, strong communication skills, and the ability to integrate value education and life skills into their teaching practices.

The training was carried out through a combination of interactive classroom sessions, group discussions, demonstration classes, and practice teaching, supported by continuous mentoring and feedback. The curriculum covered key areas such as the 5E teaching model—Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate—along with the development of core competencies including communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creative application. In addition, participants were introduced to value education and life skills topics such as empathy, honesty, teamwork, decision-making, and responsible behaviour, which were incorporated into their practice teaching sessions.

Participants remained actively engaged throughout the programme, demonstrating consistent attendance, participation in discussions, and progressive improvement in their teaching abilities. The course included assessment through participation, lesson planning, and practice teaching performance, ensuring that learning outcomes were effectively achieved. By the end of the programme, participants showed noticeable improvement in their confidence, communication, and ability to conduct structured and learner-centric sessions.

Certificates were distributed on 4th April 2026 in a formal ceremony, graced by Smt. Uma Dasgupta and Smt. Krishna Sengupta, Principal, Horizon School. The occasion was further blessed by the Revered Vice President Maharaj of Belur Math, who offered his blessings to all the participants. The programme was successfully completed as planned and has contributed to developing a group of trained educators capable of delivering meaningful and value-oriented education in their respective areas
